“One of Elkhart County's Famous landmarks, old Buzzard Hill located south east of New Paris, is being revamped in the construction of a ski resort, setting a precedent for Northern Indiana recreation. The $100,000 ski resort is being constructed by three South Bend Men, Robert F. Haskin, Loyal Wilson and Clifford Hamilton, on the land leased from Paul Christner, Route 5, Goshen. The jump itself is situated on the north side of the hill and will feature equipment to make its own snow. One of the buildings is shown in the above photo in its foundation stage. Three ski lifts are expected to be operated when the winter sport gets its county opening.”
